Brand-approved, without exception.
Every product is sourced through the brand owner or their authorised travel-retail channel. No parallel imports, no grey stock.
The country's first fully brand-approved airport duty-free chain — every product authorised by the brand owner. Opening at Harare, November 2026.
Our mandate
Duty Free Stores of Zimbabwe is the country's licensed national duty-free operator. We are building the first airport duty-free chain in Zimbabwe where every product is authorised directly by the brand owner — genuine, traceable, and priced with transparency — run to the standards of the Gulf's leading travel-retail markets.
The model
A disciplined model built for provenance, availability and consistent execution.
Every product is sourced through the brand owner or their authorised travel-retail channel. No parallel imports, no grey stock.
Backed end to end by our own group — sourcing, bonded warehousing and stock control in one hand, so the shelf stays full.
Assortment, pricing and replenishment are decided on live data, not guesswork — with every price saved as a dated, locked version you can audit.
Hired and trained in-country, held to international service and category discipline.
Vertical support
Duty-free only works when the product is there. We are supported top to bottom by our own group — sourcing, bonded distribution and stock control under one accountable operator, from source to shelf. It is a closed loop designed to keep supply moving through any disruption: travellers find what they came for, and the brands we carry get consistent, dependable retail.
Part of DFP World — an integrated frontier duty-free group — with distribution through Afrique DistriHub, routed via Tanger Med, the sixth-ranked container port in the world.
The opportunity
Zimbabwe's airports handled 2.28 million passengers in 2024, up 19% year on year, and the country welcomed around 1.6 million international visitors. Harare's international terminal has been rebuilt to handle 6 million passengers a year. Across Africa, airports now rely on retail concessions for 37% of their non-aeronautical revenue — the highest share in the world. The infrastructure is ready; the standard has been missing. That is what we are here to set.
The rollout
Measured momentum across two gateways. Every milestone is stated precisely.
